Weekend Wash Out

On Monday, someone will ask me how my weekend was. "What weekend?" I'll probably think.

I've been working on a Masters essay all weekend, and I've just totted up and realised I've put in seventeen hours on it. Ick. However, it's now done, and I can stop thinking about it for a while.

I finished it an hour ago, and I'm now the other side of:

i) Some light chores
ii) Half a glass of rose of pinot noir
iii) A face mask
iv) And a hot shower and sugar scrub

I now feel not so much human again, as a goddess.

I shall now turn that goddess domestic, and prepare dinner.

Congrats, Anna, on finishing your Masters essay. Wow, it sounds intense. Can I ask what the topic is?

Enjoy your night as goddess!

Thanks, Cyndi. :-)

I'm studying for an MA in Community Studies, but for this essay I had to write and justify a research proposal for the topic, "Community Planning – the role of different levels of governance in addressing Rural Social Exclusion."

And yes, it's really as boring as it sounds. Thankfully some of the other modules are a bit more absorbing!

hmmm your assignments titles are as interesting as mine do huh?

Congratulations on completing it hon. I'm in the middle of my first year Community Profile at the moment, can I recomend transfering statistics from the census into a document, then analysing them as a cure for acute insomnia?

It probably would have helped if I'd mentioned that I'm studying Community Education. Doh!

I think I'm grasping the cotton hairs on what that means. I think. :-)

Best of luck in your pursuit. Do you have exciting plans for your MA?

Here's a sigh. I wish I lived somewhere rural. It would be nice not to hear a car or a jet for five seconds. :-)

Oh, and I meant to tell you I love the photo you use. It speaks volumes. Is it you?

Hugs, C

LOL NotQuite! I got what you meant. :-) Where do you study?

No particular plans, Cyn. I've always wanted to go further in academic studies, but was concentrating on my community development job. I'm also always interested in the theory of what I do in that job - then a chance came up to get a bursary, work were willing to spare me part time, and there I was. *g*

The work I do is very 'soft' and hard to measure, and after four, nearly five, years of doing it, I'm pretty skillful at it. I wanted a formal qualification that reflected that.

I love living where I live for that very reason, Cyn - peace. And yes, that photo is me, and VERY me. It has to be said I'm a bit wider these days, but Husband took that while I paused to take in the mood of Hermitage Castle, in Scotland.

Congrats on finishing the essay, Anna! Your goddess evening sounds fabulous--sigh--and much deserved. Hey, how are the kitties doing?

I'm at UWIC (Cardiff) studying for my proffessional qualifications so I can get a full time job. For some reason 7 years of voluntary and/or paid part time experience doesn't get me a full time job. Ah well...
