How Green is My Valley

Because it's a long time till Spring, and sometimes you need to remember how green the world can get...

This is Borrowdale, a valley about ten miles from where I live. Childhood holidays were spent here, and it is, in my mind and my heart, quite simply the most beautiful, tranquil, loved and living landscape in the world.

Ahhhhhhhh thank you.

I needed that today, with half my house torn up, no insulation between me and the outside elements. And our high temp this weekend is supposed to be -2 degrees F.

Beautiful indeed.

My bad I can see a Roman legion marching through the valley. I have Romans on my brain indeed. :)

I totally know what you mean, Gabrielle! Although for a more 'Roman authentic' landscape, try the picture of the trees in the post above. As for this picture - lose the hedgerows, marsh up the flattest parts, and picture thick woodland covering most of the fells, and you've got your Roman landscape...

You're welcome, Lori. I feel so lucky, I have to share.
